Hello,

I have lots of problem WiFi 2,4Ghz too with 28598, how can i go back to K2.6 ?

Thank you

edit 18/01/2016 : I have always the same problem with build 27506 K3.0, but i think i find a way :

==> Hard reset 30/30/30
==> Save only basic wireless settings, and wireless security
==> Go to Administration, apply settings.

I think it's correct, but if you touch any parameter WiFi after that, WiFi 2,4Ghz will not work properly.

Bye

Kudos to BrainSlayer & Team for these much improved K3X Builds. On my old WRT610Nv2 they offer much more than any K2.6 Build. I've test dozens of K2.6 Builds and only found two stable enough for this router: 25648 & 28397.
These newer Linux 3.x kernel builds are miles ahead, I have no idea why I never flashed one in the last 3 years. Below are my notes, hope they help.

28882, 28846, 28788, 28647 = 7824KB Fail due to size.
28579 = flash requires Reset 2x (7788KB size)
28598, 28586, 28493, 28444, 28417, 28397 = flash perfectly (7768KB size)

Linksys Flash Method:
1) 30/30/30
2) login to current DD-WRT (K26 or K3X) open Admin >FM Upgrade > select Beta K3X build > Upgrade
3) wait for completion then wait 5mins more
4) power cycle 10sec
5) 30/30/30
6) configure router fresh for highest stability.

using most recent that fits 28598 for 1week to test stability will report results. newest isn't always best for older routers, plan to test all listed above with sizes under 7824KB.

improvements found in all K3X builds:

Thanks for that useful post Smile

28579 was not stable for me and so I am currently back running 28397. Having read your post, I may be tempted to try one of the later "working" versions pre-Xmas 2015.

Thanks for this notification GreyDoc,
It's great to see new builds released so soon to fix the file size issue. Kudos again to the entire team.
I've now flashed the K3X 28976 build and seems to run fine. Just noticed its +4C hotter than 28598. Will post more results in main 28976 announcement thread.

I can save you more trial and error.
both 28586 & 28579 are unstable on WRT610Nv2 routers plus others. I'll be running these three builds to determine best for this router: 28976, 28598, 28397.
I may have discovered a bug in first two where NAS feature to enable WAN access has zero effect when on or off. On 25697 seems to work as expected.

Router: RT-N16
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r29048 big (02/05/16)
Kernel: Linux 3.10.96 #11395 Fri Feb 5 09:10:41 CET 2016 mips
Status: AP
Reset: Yes
Errors: No

Started with 27858 k2.6
Flashed 21530 k3.x as first k3.x build as recommended for the RT-N16
Then directly to 29048 k3.x

So far no issues.

I was unsuccessful in trying to upgrade my WRT610Nv1 from K2.6 to dd-wrt.v24-28417_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin, and so it seems to be bricked. It was an extra router that was available for testing a while back, but it's still a sad loss. See here for details, if interested.

I would have liked to report better testing results, but alas either I mucked something up during the flash, or the different chip my unit appears to have caused problems (MX 29LV640DBTC-90G vs EON EN29LV640).

Strangely even though RT-N12 (not D1/B1) only got 4MB flash, there's a K3.x build for it.

And its mega (7.9MB).

Is it flashable to RT-N12?

Interesting, same story for the RT-N10*...only the "Asus RT-N10U_BLACK" says it has 8MB flash. Looks like the build config for K3X is wrong, unless it's accounting for those who solder in bigger flash chips. :-/

I am using Linksys e1200 router with DD-WRT v3.0-r28417 mega (12/03/15). Everyting including SIP Proxy works well. The only problem is that SIP registrations do not show up on the Phonebook page. I look forward to a response.

Thanks

I use version 3.0-r28211 on a RT-16N router and often times uploading a big file over WIFI to the FTP server of DD-WRT from an Android or Blackberry phone that takes lets say 10 minutes crashes the whole router after a while.

I used the AndFTP and FTPCafe FTP-apps on Android and Blackberry.

I tried uploading from windows over WIFI to the built in FTP server and no crashes.

Nor crashes when i upload over ethernet to the FTP server of DD-WRT.

I had this issue on a K2.6 installation of DD-WRT as well.

Will the nv64k mega build work on this router and does it have OpenVPN support?

Thanks,

The mega K3 build does not flash on the WNR3500U/WNR3500L router. I have tried multiple times from K2.6 to K3.

Is someone willing to create a smaller build?
