I have my router working perfectly, wireless extending and my LAN port is working too.

So follow this tutorial here to solve the 18005 error when flashing factory-to-ddwrt.bin:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=168045#p168045

Since we all have the same routers and same default firmwares, use these two hex codes when patching the factory-to-ddwrt.bin file (no need to input stock firmware):

0x40-0x43 - input 08300002
0x44-0x47 - input 00000001

After that just flash it in the TP-Link Webgui of your router. Then you may proceed as usual!
I'm using the latest updated firmware here: http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F2013%2F07-24-2013-r22118%2Ftplink_tl-wr841ndv8%2F

After that I followed the tutorial here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge#Atheros

Follow the Atheros tutorial for the first part, then continue with the Broadcom tutorial.

After I used tp-link web-ui to feed factory-to-ddrt.bin my repeater flash all lights once and then only power lamp stays on. No ping, no hard reset or arp -s. Is it compleatly dead?

After flashing the ddwrt file, the repeater will broadcast via wifi, there should be a SSID called dd-wrt. Access the Repeater remotely with a wifi connection

I have the same problem, only power lamp stays on. And I have no SSID called dd-wrt. I've tried hard rest, soft reset but... it's impossible.

How is this possible? It worked for me. Did you do a 30-30-30 reset before and after flashing?

Same for me, after I flash factory-to-ddwrt (lot's of them includding version from this post) only power led is on , lan and wirelsee is gone. I made a backup of 25L032 spi flash and rewrite back with a programmer and it's alive again.
I attach backup file , you need a programmer that suport's spi flash 25L032.
Any ideea how to make ddwrt working on mine 830RE v2?
It's strange because for some peopel work and for some don't.
Thank you. Smile

Just updated succesfully from r22118 to r23204 through the web interface (without settings reset) because I had some spike issues.
Also Wiviz survey now finally shows something

I manage to put ddwrt in my 830re v2 after many test, it worked with r23204 tplink_tl-wr841ndv8 .
http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F2013%2F12-24-2013-r23204%2Ftplink_tl-wr841ndv8%2F

I attach ddwrt installed flash for one's with brick unit's.Need only a programmer that support serial SPI 25fl032.

ghitab thanks for the backup file.

How do you write the flash? Did you connect the SPI writer directly to the flash chip, or are you using the 4 pin conector near it ?

I bricked mine, but the default firmware is pure garbage...

Thank you!

no need for a flash dump and an spi programmer.

just use a ttl serial interface, connect 3 wires (gnd,tx,rx), and you can unbrick it.

google for "wr841nd serial debrick" you will find many info.
