hi
i am having a problem in my setup, and was hoping someone could help me out
i can connect my macbook to the hotspot but the problem is, i have to climb a mountain to get line of sight
so i have put a wrt54g dd-wrt repeater on the mountain.
i now can get internet from my macbook via the dd-wrt to the hotspot, no problem, the signal is just very weak.
so now i want to connect a microtik client to my macbook to better reach the dd-wrt signal. this is where i run into a problem.
strange thing is, when i go from macbook lan to microtik to the hotspot (bypassing the dd-wrt) i can get online no problem. so the microtik client is working
when i go from macbook to dd-wrt to hotspot, i get online, so the dd-wrt is working
the problem must be somewhere between microtik and dd-wrt
im not sure where my problem is so i am posting this on both the dd-wrt and microtik forums
this must be an ip problem as i get a self assigned ip error on my laptop
please, any ideas or suggestions would be great
as i live out in the mountains and my livelyhood depends on my internet connection.
and walking up that mountain every day to check email is killing me slowly
