I agree with you.

If a DEV could confirm interest to work on it, I would be glad to donate the same too.
I think that in case would be easier to find more people interested in a donation...

Maybe the forum moderator could advise us about this... Question

Newegg has it on sale today for $59.99 with $20 rebate. Use Promo Code EMCWPGP67

I wish I could afford to purchase two of them and send one to DD-WRT.

I already saw this offer, anyway I thought that the problem could be the shipping cost to Germany ...

Of course it's available, they used an old open source firmware changing just the essential.
I already had a look in that but for dd-wrt devs it's not useful at all.
Moreover, in those sources there are some already compiled tools for which they did not included the source.
DD-WRT dev needs at least a machine, in order to study how it works and test any new changing in DD-WRT firmware ...

Our only chance is that a "generous" dev who has some time to spend with this router, reading this posts, decides to take care of our case.
The main problem is that this router is a quite good machine, it comes with many functions, but it has been bought by few people due to the not so cheap launch cost.

The WNDR4700 is fairly cheap now and has a lot of possibilities. Would love to see DD-WRT supported on this device. I still have my fingers crossed. Wink

I can provide a sample if desired as I'd like to see this unit up and running.

Let me know where it should go.

I'm still hoping that someone will start developing, but it's been years already...

I'd love to put either dd-wrt or openwrt on this router. I'm holding onto my sliver of hope.

Some news about WNDR4700 firmware.
It is not a complete release, because of some features are still missing or not working yet.
Anyway for what I am looking for it is really interesting.
Actually I have flashed my WNDR4700 using the last stable release of LELE
Here the link: https://github.com/chunkeey/apm82181-lede/wiki/Netgear-Centria-N900-WNDR4700

I'm not interested in USB 3 and others features but only on stability, so, working firewall and routing which actually are working perfectly.
