I ran wl -i eth1 interference 4. Pings to the router with the intel 5100 still averaging 22ms but I get my full 30mbps down.
With a ralink USB 2.4ghz adapter averaging 1ms.
Damn, I just bought an intel 5300 on eBay, hasn't arrived yet. Going to have to see if I can find a Railink dual band full pci-e card.

Yes telnet works and if you want it to survive a reboot, add it to startup commands.

Administration->Commands

add the line, then press Save Startup.

I give up on this router. Ive come to the conclusion it needs work all around to function better.
Here are my pings on netgear fw on the 2.4ghz band.

We will see if next drivers improve a few things in general.
Anyways at work I have used Netgears A6200 adapters which workedd quite well in the last few month.

Intel adapters don't make me happy, not sure if it is just the hardware, but the software has endless bugs.

It seems to be the same with my laptop that has the Bradcom card in it.
You'd think it woukd work the best since they both are Broadcom.
My r6300v1 works beautifully on your latest build.

Settings also make a big difference. By default windows and drivers are set to save energy. E.g. on my Dell Laptop with an Intel 6300AGN, the maximum throughput on 5G with about 6m distance is around 90Mbps, if I change energy plan to full perrformance and the output in the intel driver to full output, then I get around 160Mbps.

What is the status of official build support for the R6250 please? I've begun working with the myopenrouter build from last December, but it doesn't support the non-trivial configuration I'm attempting to put together (guest access, VPN and PBR).

Ideally I'd just flash the latest official build (which I see IS available for R6250 ) and have everything work. Searching this forum only seems to reveal a bunch of horror stories related to overclocking (which I'll avoid) and nothing much else.

I was impatient and installed the latest beta from here.

The firmware works, I followed the Multiple WLANs wiki entry and it's all working nicely. A foible with that FW appears to be that most changes require a full reboot of the router to take effect.

Now to try and get the VPN configured, and set it up so I can choose which devices are inside or outside the tunnel..
