Hi guys,

I whas so sick and tired of the official firmware of linksys E3000 with all his troubles... always breaking inet, loosing connection, bad connection. but didnt know you also could flash the router (dumb me)

So i saw a post of custom firmwares for E3000 and installed tomato 1.28 I whas so glad that this worked so good en well. I had always full signal, no more internet loss etc etc... But the userinterface is killing me in my opinion.

So i came to this forum and saw some screenshots and whas instand in love with this firmware and his interface. So i followed this forum, managed to get back from Tomato to original linksys E3000 firmware with succes, but got stuck on what todo next.

Its first time for me and i find so many files and pages that i dont no more where to begin.

Because im original firmware again... Can i use direct the latest build for my linksys E3000 or do i have to pre-install another file first? And the big question what file or files do u recommend for my router? Because on that part im a little bit stuck and confused even after the page in here of E3000.

I know on how to corectly install it etc (but pointers/tips always welcome) Only im stuck with what version i have to install and what files to choose in future when i want to upgrade.

I hope im on the right page of this forum (otherwise sory) and hoping their is someone that can lead me the way.

Kind regards

Hi,

thnx for the fast answer!

I saw that page already before and thats whats so confusing me..

so i must first download and install for first time "Trailed Initial Flash Build, dd-wrt.v24-14929_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_ftp-e3000.bin" and then from what i try to understand every build that i want to upgrade must have e2k-e3k in his name but name changed too NV60?

so after that trailed initial flash build, i must then download a K26 NV60 upgrade file... Correct?

kind regards

Many many thnx jackykoning!

one more question, the first 2 files you typed... must both be installed by flashing and the 3rd one by upgrade... or only the first link flashing and the 2 others upgrade?

again many thnx!

All of them are installed by flashing.

first is required to flash dd-wrt
second is required to get all functions
third is an experimental build but works good.

mm...

The first 2 files all goes smooth like a train. 3rd file when i start upgrading... after 3secondes i dont see the progress bar anymore as i usual see when upgrading... should i woryy or do something, or restart the firmware update?

Btw i like all those extra features, + language selection... user interface is amazing an everything working verry smooth and well. Congratz to the creators and supporters!

No its ok. its the "wrong file" atleast thats what it thinks.
Adding nv60 to the end of the file name should solve that. Smile
If that doesnt work i will post another link

Hey everyone,

Don't wanna start a new thread about the same issue so I'll ask here.

I too, have been somewhat confused about the files required. Yes, even after reading this post....lol

I want to flash my E-3000 from Stock firmware.

The wiki says I need the trailed build first, then the e2k-e3k build such as the 15692 e2k-e3k (must have e2k-e3k in the file name).

Yet jackykoning says:
Quote:
first ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/05-27-2013-r21676/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3000.bin
second ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/05-27-2013-r21676/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin
and on own choice . ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/05-27-2013-r21676/broadcom_K3X-EXPERIMENTAL/dd-wrt.v24-21676_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin

Can I skip the trailed build and wiki suggested bins and just go with jackykoning's post? ?

Thanks!
