I havent kept up with new routers, still use a 54gl router, but I want to replace it, but dont know what is good out there for a reasonable price. I mainly want 3 things, n wireless, 10/100/1000 ports, and flashable to dd-wrt. Would anyone have a recommendation or 2?
RT-N16 or RT-N66U. Before that, I would have advised E3000 or E4200 but they have 64 MB RAM, which leads to trouble if pixelserv and IPv6 are enabled. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei
2 times RT-AC56U running DD-WRT 45493 (one as Gateway, the other as AP, both bridged with LAN cable)
3 times Asus RT-N16 shelved
E4200 V1 running freshtomato 2020.8 (bridged with LAN cable)
3 times Linksys WRT610N V2 converted to E3000 and 1 original E3000 running freshtomato 2020.8 (bridged with LAN cable)
Meanwhile the problem of swapping like crazy with both pixelserv and IPv6 enabled has been solved, see http://svn.basmaf.com . _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

Follow messerchmidt's advice.
r7000 is one of the most developed last generation router and with great future.
If not possible, go with RT-N16 with N speeds, a sturdy work horse. _________________ R7000 testing XVortex/Merlin's firm as AP @ home, VOIP, wifi printer, Roku 3 & 8 clients, Guest wifi, 2 wifi cameras, USB storage. Great firm. No more 1400 oveclocked, no need.
RT-N16 on VicTek's Raf Beta 9014-v1.3d. repeater @ Condominium pool side, a lot of clients messing arround.
wrt600n on wrt610n firm 16214 @ warehouse for 22 colleagues as wifi client @ 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz just for me.
wrt54gl on Eko's @ warehose as repeater for 22 coleagues as wifi client
wrt350n oldie 2007, 5 years bricked, recovered from dead & modded with antennas and new agn radio now incredible "NA mixed" on Brainslayer's , repeater at my garage, modding as hobby (picture)
All at service.
