The stock firmware on this device is awful! Has there been any word on DD-WRT for this device?

Thanks, I have a few questions though...

1. Is this safe for a newbie. I'm just trying to replace the dodgy firmware on here by default (Basically, is this a potentially buggy release and safe to flash)

2. Is there a more simplified install explanation I could follow you could link me for the file you linked?

Thanks.

not at all go to OpenWrt and start to read Documentation here http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/start
once you understand the concept then carry on at OpenWrt forum

Sorry you may have misunderstood what I meant - I know quite alot about routers and access points (Which is why I am installing dd-wrt) but I am not so familiar in the ways DD-WRT releases these firmwares and to what quality this release is (It could be a new, buggy release)

I was more asking about if it was safe to flash without any chance of bricking my Access Point.

Edit:
Please disregard. My apologies, I just looked to see what LuCI is and it is the Web Interface - Quite important then!

Yes and No, 99% of OpenWrt users don't use LuCi, they use the extra space left to install packages, in my case I use LuCi all the time, I hate Cli, there is very few info on LuCi on Google, there is a video in YouTube how to set up a repeater, it does not cover the ip settings, like that is useless and misleading to a newbie. I found one Spanish forum that has LuCi info. that's where I learned, once you learn the basics you understand.
FriedZombie compiled a file for V3 with LuCi read post #5 here http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?74805-WA901ND-v3-Constantly-has-to-be-rebooted&region=China
There are 2 files on that post, the first one line starts with OpenWrt (3rd party)

Edit: I did have alot of stuff here but I seem to have worked it out now.

The interface for the firmware you linked is very unreliable and pages will only load after 3-4 refreshes. How can I revert to stock firmware?

go to OpenWrt forum and ask someone like FriedZombie to compile a file for you
If you flash a TL firmware you will brick your router read back to original FW here http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.uninstall
