Hello,

tried one week - now it´s time to ask for help Smile

my AC68U worked well with MerlinWRT last 3 years. But i need some more features and want to switch to DD WRT.

The problem of the last days in short:
after flashing any version of dd wrt - router boot but i cant connect.
tried 30-30-30 many times
tried WPS Button Reset many times
tried mtd-erase2 nvram many times
tried 8 versions of dd wrt (very old ones, newest avaiable, kong...)
stock FW, MerlinWRT and Tomato works

some trouble i got:
1. LAN1 LED is active without cable plug in
1.2 LAN1 with cable - PC says there is no cable pluged in
2. WLAN DD WRT is active - but cant connect (connection will refused immediately)
3. after flashing i got SOMETIMES a ping answer from router - for 1 second and after this no answer anymore(did "ping -t" to monitor activity)
4. the last Version of DD WRT ( 32753 (BS) 2017-07-19) shows me the GUI and after i changed password - nothing...no ping, no access, nothing

So...any idea how to get DD WRT on my AC68U? Better said - any idea how to acess router after flashing DD WRT Sad

I'd avoid the latest builds of DD-WRT at the moment.
The GUI appears to become unresponsive.

dd-wrt.v24-32170_NEWD-2_K3.x appears to be a good, recent build on my RT-N66U.

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/06-01-2017-r32170/asus-rt-ac68u/

Or you can use the recommended build on the wiki page:
https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_RT-AC68U#Links_to_verified_firmware

The recovery process should be the same on the AC68U namely:
-Disconnect power
-Hold Reset button ►O
-Power on router
-Wait until blue power light is slow blinking
-Set a static IP on computer i.e. 192.168.1.2
-Open Web Browser to 192.168.1.1
-Flash through the MiniCFE server page
-Once router is back to normal set computer IP back to DHCP

To clear NVRAM you disconnect power, hold WPS and apply power. Release shortly after the fast blinking.

If your running the latest ASUS-WRT/Merlin builds you'll have to first downgrade this to below v380:
https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Installation

Sounds like it's all gone a bit pear shaped if lights are coming on without cables being plugged in.
Maybe you'll have to try serial recovery or it could be a hardware issue but try the above first.
