Hi everyone,

I've got an unboxed Tp-Link wr841 v.8.4 and I'd like to install dd-wrt but I have some doubts:

If I choose the 2013 downloads folder There are a lot of subfolders

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The first question is. Do all the folders contain tl-wr841ndv8 stable releases? Which is the best / bugs free/ more tested version?

Once you are inside the desired folder there are two different files:

factory-to-ddwrt.bin and tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin

In some webs they said that you have to upload the factory-to-ddwrt first and then, after a hard reset, to upload the second one

In other webs, they say it's not necessary to upload the second bin file. Uploading the factory-to-ddwrt.bin is enough. They also say that webflash files are just for upgrading .

Obviously My second question is...

Which is the right procedure if my router is still running original software?

Thanks in advance,
Regards

in your router interface you must have ''firmware upgrade''
flash there ddwrt build allways first flash is factory-to-ddwrt.bin
must wait around 5 min.and after you will have ddwrt on your router...
remember not allways the new build, necessary must be the best..
try flash the one before the last one...
and if you don't like ddwrt you can revert to original tp-link firmware using the build from this file...
