I was reviewing the specs on the odroid-ux; a nice little monster, and perfect for a ddwrt server/firewall (minus the wifi).
just an idea:

quad core (well 8 core) samsumng based arm system with 2gb of ram.

Would it be possible to port ddwrt to such a device? (add a second ethernet adaptor via usb 3).

Actual wifi routers could then be used as accesspoints while thing thing does the dhcp, firewall, optware, asterix,etc
