If you read the whole thread then you are aware of what the stock cfe can do.

Was just wondering if anyone running DDWRT is using stock cfe instead of the modded Asus cfe

They are and they have to keep their nvram usage below 32k.

Has anyone gotten the EA-6900 to run as wireless bridge on 5GHz and with 1300mpbs speed (theoretical speed)?

EA6900
I am using ASUS cfe.
Should I no longer need to worry about the 32k bug?
I am using build (DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/28/15) std - build 27096) and sometime it would fail to load up the ddwrt admin web page.

Any recommend build?

When I telnet and top.
The httpd is showing "httpd -p" where I think it should be "httpd -p 80" in order to work.

I want to know if it is caused by 32k bug or the build that i am using?

P.S. I have flash the firmware twice.

Does anyone have the same issue with me?
I know the web service would be fail for some build as I remember when I use build "(24/12/2014) <- not exactly sure" for TP-Link 740N would have the same issue.

When top, sometime it is showing "httpd -p 50:AE" sort of random.

Would start up run solve it?
"stopservice httpd && startservice httpd"

Do I still need to run
for line in `nvram show | grep =$ `; do var=${line%*=}; nvram unset $var; done

if so, how should I put it together with "stopservice httpd && startservice httpd"

If you are using Asus CFE, you do not have to worry about the 32I nvram bug. I wonder if your unsetting of nvram parameters is what is causing your grief. I am using the very latest build 27506 and it seems stable to me. I am also using the Asus CFE. But I haven't been running it for long so don't put to much weight on my stability claim.

When i send it back, will they be able to find any traces of dd-wrt??

I think they will. If you flashed to dd-wrt and then the boot loop started. I assume pings on boot start with the 100ttl and then switch to 64 just before restarting. If you were to look at the serial console, you would see dd-wrt starting to boot during the 64ttl part and then a kernel panic before the restart.

No the boot loop started when i flashed back from dd-wrt to linksys stock firmware?

Oh, mea culpa, sorry!
Forget to change some nvram Asus parameters to Linksys.
Here is the fixed CFE. Don't forget to edit your macs/pw again!

It seems that somebody succeeded to flash EA6900's CFE into EA6700 and works fine. I'm wondering whether this CFE works on EA6700......I don't know how to debrick with JTAG so I'm really afraid to have my EA6700 bricked forever..

It works, I did it. It just takes longer to boot up.
Btw there is no jtag support for it. Only serial.

OK, it should say Linksys then. I have not seen that happen, when I was back on Linksys with missing nvram vars, the unit would boot but not come up with full functionality. You are in a state I did not see.

To whom it may concern,

For your information, My problem only would occur when it is auto restart via watchdog.

Does both USB port works when using Asus cfe with ddwrt? I read that the usb 3.0 port will not work when using Asus cfe with moded Asusmerlin firmware.

No, USB 3.0 does not work with dd-wrt either, when using Asus CFE. USB 2.0 works fine, though.

This is not the firmware problem - it is because of small hardware difference between Asus and Linksys routers, and needs some fixing in CFE.

Thanks! I flashed EA6900 CFE to EA6700, it seems that the 32k bug is gone..

Has anyone tried ASUS CFE on EA6700? I know that EA6900 could user ASUS CFE.

Thanks a lot to XVortex, your custom CFE/AsusWRT-Merlin firmware for this router is a huge improvement. Do you accept donations at all? Would love to contribute.
