but now my problem is the WiFi is not switching on automatically after rebooting
Today i was brick my TL-WR840N too. It was international version (Russia).
I put in there: Downloads › betas › 2015 › 08-25-2015-r27745 › tplink_tl-wr840nv1 (factory-to-ddwrt.bin).
Now it light up only the power and lan|wan port led.
If i try manually setting up IP in the PC and ping 192.168.1.1 it is not response, only 192.168.0.1 i get answer (ttl=100). But i can't open in browser CFE miniWeb Server (http://192.168.0.1).
Am i did a right steps?
Scanned "standard" ports don't gave anything, no one 80, 8080, 22 and etc was not found.
Or now can help only a Serial Cable with opening router box?
UPDATE: After few times of rebooting device, i got a 80 port and opened CFE miniWeb Server, after done whats was in few posts up. Now my device live on OEM FW
PS: How i understood the port (web server) up only on few seconds after power up. So i done it quickly and it was open all the time, until i was download needed files to "re-flash".

I have the same as Sky008, bricked my WR840N, I have no lights on the router except the power and the active connection. Then I found all the forum topics on it.
I put in the static setting into my PC that barkermn01 suggested. I only have my pc connected to the router, i.e. the router isn't connected to anything else at all.
I pinged 192.168.1.1 and get this:
Reply from 192.168.1.100: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.100: Destination host unreachable.

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
I pinged 192.168.0.1 and get the same. Which I find confusing, is it connecting or not?
I tried rebooting the router a couple of times and tried to connect quickly after I turned it back on as Sky008 said, but I get no connection to anything through my browser typing in either of the IPs. I can't get to this CFE other people seem to be able to, what am I doing wrong?
It's a real shame that when I went to download the .bin file there wasn't an obvious/big warning about my router possibly being bricked, given it's a year after this was first posted!

Are you set IP in PC static as 192.168.0.100 or you trying to ping 192.168.0.1 with 192.168.1.x?

Any luck in fixing WiFi after doing this recovery?
With my full double recovery of stock TP-Link firmware, my radio is still not working. Key message in serial port is:

The Rf test never completes and WiFi never shows up.
Best guess is that the ART calibration settings in flash are missing due to failed dd-wrt attempt. But I can't find how to reset them to factory. Any clues are appreciated.
10 years after, I have this problem.
The links you guys shared are no longer available. Someone can help me please? I just bricked this router from a client and I need a solution please!

The Broadcom version 1.0 of this router is NOT currently supported, only the v1.1 Atheros (China) version is. The files you need are attached earlier in this thread.
