Hi I'm new to dd-wrt.
I was using dd-wrt.v23_vpn_generic.bin SP2 on Lynksys WRT54GL v1.1.

My most important question is about the routers initial IP after it is rebooted.

After reboot the router has the IP 192.168.1.1 and then changes to the IP you have set for it using the management portal. Is there away to change this behavior?

One of my LAN's most important server run on 192.168.1.1 so when I started working on the WRT54GL I kicked out most of the company off the server with the resulting confusion in IP's.

I would like to be able to tell the router to initially use another IP ie 192.168.0.1.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Vanc from Vancouver.

Is this not possible? I'm willing to modify the firmware image if it is needed.

Is it possible to change the factory defaults you get when you reset the router? I'd like to try that.

Thanks.

if it is not possible, you can always disconnect the router from the network before you change it to the required network address.
