A few times this has happened.
My WRT54GL - DD-WRT v3.0-r46446 mini (04/24/21)
just stops working.
Lights blinking but nothing works.
I have to unplug it and replug to get it working again. It was fine the night before at midnite, but not at noon today.
Works again after unplug and replug. I have included the following as file attachments:
Here are client (Linux Mint) responses from router:
/tmp/var/log/messages
/etc/config/base.nvramconfig
"nvram show" results

The only red tagged error message in the syslog is at line 88.
BTW, would be nice if it weren't in red for the color blind folks like me - had to get someone to read it.
Oh, and maybe a flag or something in the actual file to id it with vi or whatever.

Anyway, it works fine after the reboot.
I have a old Buffalo WHR-G54S running Tomato 1.28 that pretty much never gets rebooted; so not really happy yet with this thing.
Thanks for any assist and hope I got it in the right board.

PS. Not clear to me if attachment (gz file) got attached or not.

Have you tried reset to factory defaults and load the configuration again from scratch (or from a good known saved file for the same build)?
Have you tried a different build?

And because this is a legacy router, have you checked the memory and cpu usage before the issue?

Have your tried telnet the router and "cat" the log file?

Disable ttraff daemon on the services tab, save, reboot. You could also possibly stand to tweak your dnsmasq settings as well to use no-resolve and specify upstream dns servers to take the load of dns queries off the router, if you haven't already configured that. If this is your main router on Comcast, you may wish to get something with a little more beef because you are bottlenecking yourself with such an old legacy device.

There is also the possibility that the capacitors on the board are failing as well as the power adapter. This is a known given on any router, especially WRT54* series and their clones.

Tried all but the ttraff and dnsmasq.
Impatient, I installed Tomato and will see how it does.
If still issues, I'll just go on the auction site and get another Jupiter Netscreen SSG5. Wish I had thought of doing that before.
BTW, this is a new WRT54GL in a sealed box from Amazon.
$20 cheap.
Oh well, if Tomato also misbehaves, that'll be my solution.

Thanks all repliers for help.
