Is it possible to assign the WAN port to something else than VLAN1? VLAN0 for example. My router is a WRT54GS v2 with DD-WRT v24 RC-1.

You can. I don't have the commands to do it on hand but it is possible. If you just want to assign the WAN port to the switch, then once you disable WAN on the Basic Settings page, a new checkbox option will appear on the page to do just that.

Actually, I don't want to make the WAN port part of the switch. I just want to be able to put the WAN port on VLAN0 instead of VLAN1 and the each of the four remaining ports on VLAN1 through VLAN4.

WAN : VLAN0
Port 1 : VLAN1
Port 2 : VLAN2
Port 3 : VLAN3
Port 4 : VLAN4
