can you tell me some digits of your serial number. i have some BIG problems with my wrt54G, and i have to return it. so i want to buy a 150N or 300N or 350N, but the thing i want more is to be able to install dd-wrt on my router.
you posted that on september 27, so i think that you bought the new version, but i want to be sure.
I followed the exact steps of that guide. When they say to restore to default, DO IT. Then you will have to choose your file version, you have to pick use the dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin version for the 1st flash. Now wait the 5 minutes that they told you to wait, DO NOT CLICK CONTINUE ! Then after those 5 minutes you will click the continue button, you will have to use the login info : user : root, password : admin. Then you will be at the web interface of DD-WRT. Now do a restore to default again with the instruction in that guide. Now I know that you don't want the mini, so download the dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin version. follow the steps again but you already did the Restore to default steps, so go to the firmware update steps. I used the Don't reset option and I upgraded with the standard dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin version. Now dd-wrt is enough intelligent to block you to do anything by telling you how much time you need to wait. After the count down, just go in your web interface, reset to default again and you should be all done.
My router is a WRT150N, s/n starting with CQ601 wich is the version 1 according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linksys_WRT300N_series
It don't say what version it is on the original firmware. I bought yesterday : 2007-10-06. I tested the WRT300N v1.1 AND ITS NOT WORKING WITH ALL THE VERSION.
I'll continue to consult this post, if you have any question on my method to do it, wich is really easy, but i'm proud to say that i'm a dd-wrt user now.
thanks to the community

I managed to install v24 RC-5 on my WRT150N v1.1 however it looks like I have DHCP Server issue...I mean it works for a while and after that it stops.
I notice the latest Linksys's firmware it fixed that.
Have you encountering as well this issue on v24 RC-5?

I just setup my WRT-150N v1.1 and all is fine. I am running it as the host router and have changed my WHR-G54S to a repeater and the setup now has really enhanced the overall network it seems.
Followed slaughters instructions and I am using V24 RC5 on both routers.
