I would say that ... with a Quickertek 500mw amplifier connected to a wireless card in my laptop than the Buffalo HP with its transmit turned up... I can see far more networks this way too from the laptop than the Buffalo site survey, so I think the Quickertek is better at both receiving and transmitting.
Try:
nvram set boardflags=0x3758
nvram commit
reboot
keeps the amp on and turns on the enhanced receive sensitivity of the Broadcom 'E/EL'-series 'Broadrange' chipset. I see a +10 SNR because of this setting, using my radio in client mode. The WHR-G125 I believe also has this broadrange tech, but no amp, so 0x1758 should work for it. The low sensitivity you are getting is because only the amp is on.
any results for the v24 firmware? I'm kinda leery about adjusting tx power without this info, especially considering how hard these are to get locally now.
I didn't understand that, how can we get 722mW for opening amp and making boardflags=0x3758? Is that enough? and should we use heatsink or not? If we should which chipsets?

It's a little early in the day for him.
GeeTek give me some power outputs guesses for the Asus WL-520 GU before you drink the worm. _________________ DSL from Windstream
