Does anybody know the procedure for flashing in the V24 RC6 if I already have V24 RC5 on my AR430w?

Just use the web interface.

Now, if we could get a VPN version I would really be a happy camper.

and upload "ar430w-firmware.bin" file to your router. I will try it when I get home...

It seems like everything worked after loading the temp boot loader. was able to get as far as executing the root.fs which completed and took me back to the dd-wrt prompt, then telnet session closed and now can't get back in to continue onto the vmlinux.bin.17 command.

Please help....

I just flashed my router that I just got from Fry's ($20 this weekend) using brandon30x's instructions on the first page. Instead of RC5 files I used the RC6 files. A couple of the responses from the router had different addresses when I was running "fis create" , but it seems to have loaded correctly.

I've only played with it for about 5 minutes. The only anomaly I've seen so far is that it seems to take quite a bit longer for it to boot than it does for my Broadcom based dd-wrt routers. Honestly I don't know what I'm going to do with this router as I already have 4 routers running dd-wrt, but at $20 I couldn't resist.

I am having problems getting the 430w to work as a bridge also. I flashed to dd-wrt v24 RC-5 and updated the firmware. I followed the instructions on the wireless bridge here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge#Example

The example is for V23 and Linksys and the V24 RC-5 is missing a couple of screens:

A. step 3, 4. Assign WAN Port To Switch: Checked.

B. step 7, Wireless Tab — Advanced Settings Subtab. Don't know if I can find those settings some where else.

When I tried to run as a wireless bridge, I keep on getting a network error "limited network connection....." and my browser can not connect to the internet. I am running Wireless security as: WPA PSK (I guess that is mode WPA Personal). Also tried running with not wireless security with the same Limited network connection error. Like to hear from anyone who has success in running this as a wireless bridge. thanks

Did you tried resetting your network to "obtain an IP address automatically" and power off / on the router?

connect to the wan port. router ip is 192.168.1.1. If doesn't work, set your network ip to 192.168.1.xx and clear your browser cache. good luck

You can try reset with the power on and push the reset for 30 sec. I did it from the box too.

importdude,
i'm pretty sure you want to connect to lan port. not wan.
