One thing that was interesting is that it got me looking at the Actiontec open source page again. Noticed that they've got revs A, C, D and E listed for the MI424WR. E has a separate download than the earlier versions (nearly 4x the size too) so there obviously has been some recent change in the hardware setup. I guess the three units I have are A, C and D revs then, as it looks like B never made it to the wild.

I guess really what we should take from this is Actiontec appears to be keeping their available open source updated and if anyone is working with it for *WRT software they should check out the latest versions that have been made available. FYI, the tarball inside the tgz file (working with WinZip here...) has a modified stamp of 10/20/2008 13:25. So nothing terribly new, but I don't know how long it has been available for download.

ok guys. since the jungo loader is a piece of bullshit and it would be easier to have redboot i talked to tornado to add support to tjtag. he needs the device cause this would be the initial support for the IXP cpu series

i have a device around i dont care of but i dont wanna spent the 30€/$40 for the shipping to odessa.

so if u guys get it managed to collect the 30€/$40 im willing to spent the device to get it started.

paypal is possible at my side

PM me your email address and I'll send you $20 US via PayPal. if the other members come up with the remaining $20 (US half) that should do it correct?

There is a redboot already available for the mi424-wr; the latest is here: http://mysite.verizon.net/jvasco/openwrt/rb-mi424wr-ROM.bin

There is also a python script jungo-image.py that will burn redboot on the unit provided local administrative access has been enabled. More details can be found here.

I'm going to need help... any chance of getting a "How To" via a youtube.com Question One of the members here (I will respect his privacy) actually helped me get Python installed and I was able to make the back-up but then it went on hold and I didn’t want to bother him anymore. So if I could see it I’d had a better chance of following though, just a thought

the rest would have been a matter of minutes
