Hey guys ! Better news now ! I am happy to tell you that JP1 is JTAG for sure :

Here is the output of tjtag -probeonly on a WRT300N v 1.1 JP1 port :

========================================
EJTAG Debrick Utility v2.0-Tornado-MOD
========================================

Probing bus ... Done

Instruction Length set to 8

CPU Chip ID: 00000100011110000101000101111111 (0478517F)
*** Found a Broadcom BCM4785 Rev 1 CPU chip ***

- EJTAG IMPCODE ....... : 00000100011110000101000101111111 (0478517F)
- EJTAG Version ....... : 1 or 2.0
- EJTAG DMA Support ... : No
- EJTAG Implementation flags: R4k ASID_8 ASID_6 NoDMA MIPS64

Issuing Processor / Peripheral Reset ... Done
Enabling Memory Writes ... Done
Halting Processor ... <Processor Entered Debug Mode!> ... Done
Clearing Watchdog ...

It remains stuck at Clearing Watchdog.

It's says it found a BCM4785 but the cpu is written BCM4705 on it.

Anything you want from there ?

Regards

Nice !

Confirmation power supply is 12V 1A.
JP1 is JTAG
JP3 is JTAG for radio (BCM4321)

The numbers written on the samsung flash chip are almost unreadable, but it looks like it would be :

Flash : K8d6316ubm

It could then be 8 meg ?

I haven't seen any obvious possibility for serial port yet. Any one knows where it is on the 300n v1.0 ?

I tried:

tjtag -probeonly /nocwd
tjtag -probeonly /nocwd /nodma
tjtag -probeonly /nocwd /fc:44
tjtag -probeonly /nocwd /nodma /fc:44

Stops at :

Probing Flash at (Flash Window: 0x1fc00000) ... ^C

or

Manual Flash Selection ...

The flash seems to be samsung K8D6316UBM

Please let me know what you think...

Thanks a lot !

@charlo

Well the flash is already added, I didn't see that you tried tjtag -probeonly /noemw or /noemw /nodma

What do you mean ? I understand tjtag seems to already have support for that chip.

Still I was wondering if you had any pointers, because it always freezes on the Clear Watchdog of the CPU or at flash detection.

I feel we are very close to get to write to the chip.

Other question, in the earlier message of this thread there is someone trying out some builds from Eko.

Does he use a serial port to see the boot output ?

Yes, he probably does, Im asking you to run those commands

/noemw and /nocwd....it will not show the flash if the commands are wrong, also I thought it was a UBM /fc:45...double check you version, Im working on the next release, they could be a little different

Ok I will try with /noemw /nocwd tonight. I should have brought the unit with me at the office but it's currently at my place.

/fc:45 is 2 MB Intel Chip, I don't think it's what I should use.

What's the most recent version of tjtag ?

Yesterday I gave a shot to sveasoft Talisman Basic 1.3.5 on my second 300N v 1.1.

It works just fine but I prefer DD WRT's interface. May be from that other router I could confirm what's the flash ? Antything to poll from the NVram ?

It didn't work as well doing it with /noewm.

I tried it with also combination of the earlier commands you had me to try.

Let me know what you would do. I will let you know if I try anything else.

All I can say is check you connections, sounds like one of the lines on the routers JTAG port is loose or not soldered completly.
