I found the 14144 build to be very satisfying - you can grab it here. _________________

i notice you've already upgraded to the 14289 build also. so QoS is working for you in that build? the "recommended" is still BS 13525... did you ever use it and know if QoS worked with it?
i was told in the 14205 thread to avoid eko's build, although that's what i've always been using, and to use the "recommended" firmware according to the 'recommended firmware' thread. the "recommended" is BS 13525. i can't stand conflicting information.
i am using the 'services priority' for QoS with various applications defined, which is not working.

I thought that you meant 'services priority' QoS but I din't tested. The ekos build are more "experimental" but for me his builds are more clean.
@scar - sorry man, I haven't done any QoS testing, since I don't use it, but if possible, I can help testing?
About Eko and BS builds, there are plenty of threads and posts where the differences are discussed, but the bottom line is that their builds are made from the same source code.
But for us 600N users, just stay clear of any K26 builds, since they will brick the router beyond repair. _________________

I just picked up a used WRT600N with stock firmware version 1.01.35 build 5. The device is v1.1 hardware by the serial number. There were threads discussing that this stock firmware may need a different install procedure, by the wiki only shows one procedure at http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT600N. Is the wiki up to date?
What is the best version of DD-WRT for this router, version and build number?
Where can I get a copy of stock firmware version 1.01.35 build 5 if I want to go back? (I can't seem to find that version.)
your initial flash from stock > dd-wrt needs to be with a firmware containing a special header, which is linked in the wiki...
as for reccomended builds, i've always stuck with brainslayer builds, 14144 works well for me.
as for linksys firmware? try their website!!
mine came with a small cd containing the latest (at that time) firmware
So, then would that be dd-wrt.v24_mega_wrt600n.bin, under "Downloads › others › eko › BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2 › 03-24-10-r14144 › broadcom"? What is the difference between that and dd-wrt.v24_mega_generic.bin?
The stock firmware offered on linksys is Ver.1.01.36 build 4 which is marked as being for v1.0 of the router. I have v1.1 and did an online chat and they said my stock firmware on the router now is as it should be, Ver.1.01.35 build 5, which is no longer on their site. The person who sold me the router provided only the unit and an A/C adapter, no disk. Anywhere I can get a copy of Ver.1.01.35 build 5 to archive before I make the switch to DD-WRT (please post or PM me a link)

i noticed that too... the recommended list just lists generic builds, so the question is: do the generic builds incorporate the required 'header' as stated under the wiki?
I personally would follow the wiki... as once you have flashed to dd-wrt you will be able to flash any other dd-wrt firmware for this model (except mini - which doesn't carry the 'n' drivers needed for the 600n)
can't help you with origional firmware, i bought mine specifically for dd-wrt and threw everythig else out a long time ago...

This is not correct.. Mini runs fine on a 600. You are confusing mini with MICRO. micro will not run on n devices as well as giga switches. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]

So are you saying, once I complete the steps in the wiki, then I should use dd-wrt.v24_mega_generic.bin under "Downloads › others › eko › BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2 › 03-24-10-r14144 › broadcom"? I am figuring mega because the router has the memory, so might as well have all the features, right?

So you threw your disk out that you mentioned?
I am still hoping someone can come up with a file for stock firmware version 1.01.35 build 5, as I would like to archive it before flashing the router.
