Hi,
I have a home network and I am planning to create a separate VLAN for my Home Lan. I am planning to do this on my primary router.
How do I create a VLAN with separate DHCP and DNS or even better without one, I don't mind create a windows AD, DNS and DHCP. I need this VLAN to have internet access form primary router and also to communicate with machines on router1. I want to configure this VLAN specifically on port4 of the router.
What are the steps? How is it done? I have tried working around this with different docs available, but I have not been successful yet. I mainly want to have a separate DNS for this VLAN.
Need to know what router make/model/version and what version of DD-WRT. Some routers are harder to configure with VLANs than others. Sometimes it takes a TON of trial and error. Lastly, if it's not a Broadcom chipset I'd probably get another router that is to do VLANs.
