Okay, this is strange. I have the 841NDv9 and loaded 06-23-2014-r24461 build. Unfortunately, it appears to not route traffic.

WAN & DHCP is disabled on this router and I have it configured to use another device as the gateway. I DID get an IP address, so the router at least passed my DHCP request to the network, and passed the response back. But that's it. Pinging known devices on the network fails. I tried 30/30/30 reload with same results. I also downgraded to the previous version with the same results.

Here's the bridge configuration:
Bridge Name STP enabled Interface
br0 no eth0 eth1 ath0 ath0.1 ath0.2 ath0.3

Another device with DD-WRT and identical network configuration works fine.

Any ideas?

If you want to remove DD-WRT to install OpenWRT only if you have the following:
1. dd-wrt: 06-23-2014-r24461
2. router: tplink_tl-wr841ndv9

Step 1. Make sure you can putty ssh to your dd-wrt router.
step 2. download this openwrt firmware
http://downloads.openwrt.org/barrier_breaker/14.07-rc3/ar71xx/generic/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr841n-v9-squashfs-factory.bin

and rename it openwrt.bin

step 3. download winscp and transfer the openwrt.bin to the router /tmp directory.
step 4. putty ssh into your router and make sure the openwrt.bin is there /tmp/openwrt.bin
step 5. then at the putty ssh prompt execute this command: mtd -r write /tmp/openwrt.bin linux
step 6. router will reboot into openwrt at address 192.168.1.1. you are now using openwrt.

**************
at this stage if you want to revert to oem firmware follow step 7.
*************revert to oem from openwrt here do not skip steps 1-6********

step 7. log into your router with openwrt configure and enable ssh and make sure you can putty into it.
step 8. download this stripped firmware for v9 http://q.gs/6git8 and rename it to stripped.bin
step 9. use winscp to transfer stripped.bin to router's /tmp directory.
step 10. putty ssh back to your router and make sure stripped.bin is there at /tmp/stripped.bin
step 11. execute this command at ssh command prompt: sysupgrade /tmp/stripped.bin
step 12. router will reboot into tp link oem firmware and have ip address of 192.168.0.1

Did it, now my router is working perfectly, Thanks! The best option by far

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and to DD-WRT. I was drawn to this firmware by a desire to share an Open VPN connection with all my devices. I am only allowed one connection at a time, but would like to have all my traffic routed through it.

So, instead of disconnecting and reconnecting on each device I want to use, I was under the impression I could load my certificates and have the connection shared. Ian using Firmware DD-WRT v24 sp-2 (5/23/14) std. There are no options for enabling Open VPN or places for my certificates and keys. There is a brief mention of it on the right side under "Help", but I have no idea what any of it means.

Is there some other version floating around that would help me with what I need?

Thank you in advance.

Came to ask the very same thing. New build released today.

Upgraded all my routers today. So far only issue is HTTPS isn't working on the TP-Links.

So I heard that Openwrt recently released their stable version of Barrier Breaker.
I'm currently on DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/14) and I'm experiencing quite a low signal and high latency: defenitely not a stable connection [I'm using it as a universal repeater].
Do you think Opnwrt may now be a better firmaware?

Two things, Build 25309 - 11/11/2014, seems to be working with it's HTTPS issues. Also picked up another TL-WR841N today and funnily enough it was v9.1. Didn't realize until after flashing that it wasn't v9.0 but it seems to be working alright.

Have you tested ping speed between 2 wireless clients on the v9.1 unit? I found a major problem with erratic ping speed jumping to ~ 2-3 seconds.

I never needed or used the button before but no, it's not working.
