That router is an atheros based dvice. Not sure but it probably uses a U-boot or a redboot boot loader.

Might need to ask in the atheros forum

Keep digging for a boot loader.. Ask @ openwrt also. I have hands on with only one atheros device. If I recall, the boot loader is not 256k like a cfe. I remember 192 but I may be wrong. That said, I don't think you can use jtag to -flash:cfe, you may need to use a custom window.

There is no tjtag support for writing or erasing an spi flash (serial flash) on AR7xxx or AR9xxx cpu based routers.

So prolly that is a good thing.. the owner really didn't wipe out his boot loader.. Interesting.

Believe, really wiped out completely. Already took out flash chip and put in programmer - empy Razz . Found a U-Boot for wrt160nl, but still not working, in hyperterminal nothing.

I don't question that your whole flash was wiped out.
I don't believe that it was done with tjtag though, that is impossible on this router.

Uploaded what appears to be a newer version of cfe from Cisco/Linksys E3000 router.

Noting that you already had a cfe for the E3000 on the ftp site I thought I'd just check to see if it was the same as mine. It wasn't.

Router Model/Version: Cisco/Linksys E3000 / v1.0 (No version number on label)
FCCID: Q87-E3000
Backup Mode: GUI
Flash Chip: Unavailable (haven't opened up device yet)

File is named cfe_e3k_20100727-160716CST.bin in the New_Uploads directory of the FTP server.

Using "strings cfe.bin | grep 2010" to determine build date:
From FTP Site: Thu Apr 15 17:47:25 CST 2010
From my router: Tue Jul 27 16:07:16 CST 2010

I'm currently successfully using build:
dd-wrt.v24-15508_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-e2k-e3k.bin

Why were you not able to download the file? was your IP banned? 10 unsuccessful logins within 45 seconds, and your ip is banned. Any shenanigans trying to hack the site, your ip is banned. This happens automatically.

Use an ftp client not the browser. The browser wants to login all by itself anonymously. I give my nephews ftp commander or cuteftp. Both are freeware and allow the download / upload of complete folders instead of one file at a time. I am sure there are several other freeware clients. PM me your ip if you know it, or let me know about what time using -6gmt that you accessed the site. I'll check if you ip got banned. If so, I'll remove the ban unless the logs show you were trying to hack the rest of the site.
