5) Firmware: DD-WRT v24 RC-7 (04/11/08) vpn. I'm running OpenVPN on this and it works beautifully.
Thanks for your work with DD-WRT. $100 donation to follow in May.
I have two questions about CFEs:
1. Are they flash-chip specific? If two routers are the same model and processor but have different flash chips, can they use the same CFE?
2. When I use someone else's CFE, is it necessary to change the MAC address? How do I change it?

I am posting a working wholeflash.bin file for a WAPv3.1 unit.
[EDIT] - you need to do a hard reset after loading this wholeflash.bin to your unit....I won't be giving out my password for the root account....hard reset will set it back to defaults of root/admin
[EDIT-02/04/09] - These steps no longer needed. WAPver=3 is now embedded in the wholeflash listed below
You will then need to put this back in Administration>>Command - Run it...then Set as Startup
nvram set WAPver=3
nvram commit
Now reboot again...or power cycle the unit.
It has V24 - RC7-9433 firmware and a custom MAC address.
Feel free to use JTAG to load it This is for a WAPv3.1 unit only.
wow.. glad this is finally taking off.... i have some posted on some one's server ... damn if i know where ... been some time ... _________________ WRT54G,GS v1.1, V2, V3 V4, V5
