The firmware for Asus RT-N18U is still 50% of the usual size (since build 54079). Is this really normal?? Some previous builds had Unbound and Curl missing. Would NOT recommend flashing this one.

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC87U R
Update method: WebUpgrade
File/Kernel: asus_rt-ac87u-firmware.trx_r54095 / Linux 4.4.302-st46 #10549 SMP Wed Nov 22 04:38:04 +06 2023 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r54079 / no
Mode/Status: Gateway / Up and running for 1:35 hours
Issues/Errors: Nothing significant

As always, the Quantenna chip has its own quirks. This is a closed source chipset
There is no way to install a channel. Crying or Very sad
But you can disable 5.0 GHz. @mpgalaxy hack "If you set the radio mode to station bridge and disable the network mode, the 5GHz device will turn off completely even after reboot." Wink

The fact is that the router is connected to the Internet (to the Internet provider). And it reports an error, the red WAN indicator flashes (the icon in the form of a planet). The internet works, I just think it's a glitch.
But this does not affect the work.
Just relax
Cool

Does this build still crash/reboot devices like previous ones due to full cache (or so I've heard) issues through the cpugov?

That is for some routers which are ported to Kernel 6.1 so not for Broadcom routers.

But take a look for yourself it the previous build threads Smile

Also confrming Asus RT-N18U build r54095 is about 50% smaller than normal and possibly incomplete/broken.
I will not risk flashing it and will stay on r53843 which was last build before it became an issue.

You use the trailed builds which are automatically the right size.
K3 builds (which actually have Kernel 4.4) is the/my preferred choice as K4.4 is still supported as SLTS release and it has working WireGuard and OpenVPN

Router/Version: Netgear WNDR4000
File/Kernel: Linux 4.4.302-st46 #27015 Wed Nov 22 05:50:38 +06 2023 mips
Previous/Reset: r53775 K26 (which had a 25 day uptime)
Mode/Status: good
Issues/Errors: none

Used dd-wrt.v24-54095_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin

Nice to actually have file sizes on a "ls -l" in Busybox instead of having to kludge wc -c

Save/Apply still does not work when making changes to the ntp section of setup

ntpclient XXXX (where XXXX is your preferred ntp server) does seem to kick it in the rear to update time, though.

Upgraded from K26 r54095 to K3x r54095 using dd-wrt.v24-54095_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e3000.bin

Takes a long time (I think the router reboots twice) but eventually comes back up.

Most routers have "ll" as alias for "ls -la"

In the Server IP/Name field the default is shown you can enter your own, space delimited then you will override the default settings
