In this thread
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=152939&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=195
we have been talking about DIR-615 H and D versions (with Ralink chipset). It seems that the latest firmware which doesn't brick these routers is 23503. Everything above 23503 apparently bricks them. Coincidentally, these newer firmwares are also the ones without factory webflash firmware available. This seems strange.
Please read pages 14 and 15 of the thread mentioned above, I'd suggest to stay on 23320 for the moment. I'm in the same boat...
I inherited a DIR-615 revision H2 that have been flashed with DD-WRT (normaly the dedicated firmware) and flashed again to the original firmware before I get it.
When I tried it, it has worked for few hours (just time to me to configure it) and i found it locked few hours after (no answer, two leds on locked like no activity, no ping).
So i tried to restart the router, the LAN led 1 and 3 had blink one time and all leds turned off ! Nothing else happened.
I tried to leave it powered off for few days (15) and after I tried again with success to start it. It worked correctly for few minutes (with normal acces to GUI and default settings), but it has been locked again.
Now, i'm in the same state than before : when i plug the power cord, the LAN led 1 and 3 blink one time and all leds turn off.
I've tried all known resets (I think) but it don't seems to react... (like if the reset button was not interpreted)
I have no idea of what to do now... Is it bricked ??
Hi folks,
fact is that the most recent FW that doesn't brick the router is 23503.
The behavior of Iherry's router might be a problem of the power supply?!
I had a problem very similar to yours, Iherry, with mine.
Good luck.
