I have a buffalo whr-600d that I want to flash back to factory firmware.
I opened it up and hooked my serial cable on it.
I use the tftpboot command and try to upload the original firmware but I keep getting a timeout message.
I set the arp using the MAC address on the bottom of the unit.
I also see this line "loading: got arp reply, set server/gtwy eth address (00:16:ec:fb:1c:fe) got it"
So I set the arp using that number also but still getting a timeout. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
old post, not sure you need help anymore, but anyway.
The router does not implement a TFTP server, therefore trying to tftp to it will be unsuccessful.
However the addresses (default) you give are correct:
- router is 192.168.11.1
- PC wired network should be 192.168.11.168
Doing any of the operations with TFTP requires to set a TFTP server on the PC that listens to that address (...168). Copy the file into the tftp server directory, and repeat the operation on the router. That should work.
