Linksys E3000 or upgrade to AC wifi chips and AC router?

I have been thinking of upgrading my router to better software. But with the new AC routers out here, would I see more from a new router , AC type with an Intel AC wifi chip in laptop, or does it not really matter.
My house is two stories, routers upstairs, and works pretty good. No data from speednet.net right now, but with Comcast its pretty good. My daughters desktops use AE3000 Linkysys antennas and are okay for them
Thoughts?

Go for it the new ac routers have more than just better wifi most have more ram and better cpu.
