Hello, I am using a Linksys E3000 with firmware build v24-sp2 (08/12/10 std-usb-ftp).

First of all, kudos to the entire DD-WRT team for creating such a magnificent firmware alternative.

I have two routers: The XFinity router(which doesn't support 5GHz) and my Linksys. Unfortunately, the way the XFinity router was installed, it is nowhere near any of my computers, and I cannot get a good reception from across the house. I want to use one of the chips (wl1) to connect with the XFinity router, since wiring would be impossible.

My question is, can I use the 'client' mode of the second wireless chip (wl1) to act as the gateway instead of the WAN Ethernet port? If so, how would I go about doing this?

If not, would using the 'repeater' mode be a viable alternative?
