Hi,

Any suggestion about TravelRouter with support for DD-WRT? Prefer a router which can handle hotspot-sharing.

Hello yngve0,

Look here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=260709&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

As several have joined forces to find a DD-WRT programmer for the "Netgear N300 Trek PR2000 Travel Router, Range Extender, Repeaterund Ethernet Bridge".

Since you should test yourself with Connect. The Travel Router is awesome, small, cheap and very versatile.

Best regards

The problem with travel routers is, limited flash space.

I have an ASUS WL330N3G which is awesome but, too little flash for DD-WRT.

Well 4 MiB I guess, since I have a 841N with DD-WRT and it is 4 MiB flash, 8 MiB is needed if you want OpenVPN etc.

The more the merrier for flash space.

You COULD upgrade the flash space if you're good at modifying boards.

Replace the flash storage chip with a higher pin compatible one.

Some people have done this, if you Google about for the exact flash chip models to use ( I saw a 16 MiB flash mod for a 841N ).

Thank you for the info.

Unfortunately, there is no dd-wrt firmware for the ingenious Travel Router PR2000 on Netgear. When traveling, the device is really great and very helpful. The PR2000 brings several terminals with an account on the Internet and in low WiFi it goes with the PR2000 usually still when mobile phone and notebook for a long time have no reception.

Unfortunately, the current original firmware has a few bugs. This is indeed developed but the latest beta version is not much better.

With DD-WRT the Travel Router would be perfect. Here offer a number of our men to support the development of finan cell: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=260709
