Hi,

I like to suggest to enable/compile/add support for OverlayFS. It's included in the main tree of the Linux kernel. Also, it's found in the tree of DD-WRT. Nevertheless, ins't working and I can't compile it.

I feel this will very useful for users with external storage (USB, JFFS, etc.). The reason is very simple: you can write in some readonly directories (like /etc) for add custom files (for example, opkg.conf).

Please, can you approve this?

I'm traying to make up-to-date patch for OverlayFS with last firmware (r24461) for a WR1043NDv1

The source of the patch that I'm using is: https://dev.openwrt.org/browser/trunk/target/linux/generic/patches-3.10/100-overlayfs.patch?rev=36663

The problem is the definition of "vfs_open" in file "fs.h", that is duplicated.

I hope BS or Sash accept to update support for OverlayFS in the main tree of the DD-WRT. I feel only some minor changes of the kernel are required to support it.

Please, BS/Sash what is your opinion?
