Do I still need to flash special fw if I'm coming from stock on R7000 or just go with the latest from Kong?

No you need to use the build to go from stock firmware to Kong DD-WRT (or normal DD-WRT) and after you can flash the latest build.

Don't be f... lazy for God sake, your answer is on post #2 on 1st page this thread.

Next time use the search function from the forum. Or at least try even reading the thread you are posting on.

It looks like USB printing worked on 29620 but broke in 29980/30100 (using R7000).
(unless something else needs to be done on the newer builds)

nevermind i just wanted to know how much of a difference it makes to choose kongs instead, do you prefer kongs on the r7000? or have you had issues with bs builds of r7000?

Hi, I bought the R7800 as a primary/WAN router, so now I'm using the R7000 as an access point/switcher and I would like to set the cpu clock again as stock (now is 1200mhz) but in recent Kong's builds the option is not available from the UI, using the terminal (nvram set clkfreq=1000,800) works but every reboot it has again the clock at 1200mhz Confused

There's a way to set the default clock without erase nvram? Thanks!

After setting the clock freq to 1000,800 did you then save the nvram?
You did not mention writing the setting to memory.
These are the recommended commands I have in the FAQ sticky.
Over Clock router cpu (thanks to Magnetron1.1)
nvram get clkfreq (get current clock rate)
nvram set clkfreq=1200,800 (OC cpu/ram stock)
nvram commit && reboot (write change & reboot)
