Just bought Buffalo WZR-1750DHP, and find the following issue:

Equipement: client pc: macbook pro (support ac one)
Broadband: support up to 500Mbps

1. I used buffalo stock firmware, connected to speedtest.net and try to perform speed test with local testing point, result: 380Mbps / 420Mbps

2. Flashed with DD-WRT community version

3. Flashed with ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/24865M

4. Perform the same test as point 1, the result is 98Mpbs / 100Mbps, HW NAT turned on also no help on performance.

Does anything wrong on my setting? BTW, does possible to flash back to stock firmware?

Even without ddtb (HW NAT), the 1750DHP with DD-WRT should do at least 250Mbps. It can do 750Mbps with ddtb, but ddtb is not really working yet for many people.

So 100Mbps is way too slow. Are you sure you are connected to the exact same server as before? There can be multiple locations in the same city, and speedtest.net isn't always consistent in picking the same one.

As for reverting back to stock, see this.

Hi code,

Thanks for your advise. I am sure that the speedtest.net connect to same location. I will retry with ethernet connection to ensure which part setting have problem.

I am interest to know that what's the ddtb lab setting and how to enable it?

Just tested with direct lan connection and get speedtest.net around 450Mbps performance. HW acc on my WZR-1750DHP work great with my isp.

However, I need to fine tune 802.11Ac performance think that is the bottleneck on last test.

DO NOT 30-30-30 or erase nvram newer routers! It can brick them.

I have a r7000 that was doing so well. I know about the random reboots, but never really had a problem with it until after a power outage. Now for the past day I've been getting reboots every 15 mins.

run after few days, a brief report here:

Flash method: Stock firmware --> Community Version --> Factory Default --> Kong 24865M --> Factory Default, never perform 30/30/30 or ssh command line nvram clear

Running service: OpenVPN, PPTP
Broadband: 500Mbps max

1. Performance: Near 480Mbps on Ethernet / 802.11ac --> Internet with HW NAT ddtb, Near 200Mbps without HW NAT ddtb , great performance improvement after HW NAT enabled.

2. Reboot issue: seems turn on HW NAT ddtb and very high traffic (> 20Mbps) may have more chance to reboot. However not sure and no idea when and how

3. HW NAT ddtb with OpenVPN: use android / windows openvpn client, tun connection to dd-wrt Openvpn server. Can use as VPN internet gateway, can ping local pcs / servers. However, cannot access specific service to local pcs / servers such ssh or rdp etc. The issue was resolved by turning off the HW NAT ddtb.

4. Bandwidth chart may not show collect WAN bandwidth chart and figure when HW NAT enabled (bypassed the software count??)

I never performed the 30/30/30 and the dd-wrt still work except the random reboot / disconnection issue. Does 30/30/30 cleaning may help? Factory default in gui = 30/30/30 do?

Anyway, very appreciate the great work from Kongac firmware team and this version already become my Production firmware yet until find a more stable one. Hope Kongac team can address the issues and update later.

30-30-30 is not necessary. Either restore to factory defaults via the web interface or hold down the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds until the lights change and the device reboots.

Latest Build 24865M works great on my Netgear R6250. Stable and no reboots.

However when I install this on my main router Netgear R7000 a lot of random reboots and unstable wifi connections. It seems the R7000 doesn't like the new wifi-driver. No problem running the latest OLDD build.

Please decrease the size of that image!
It's taking up bandwidth and screen space.
Thanks.

Will Kong ever support older hardware like the 3000? I have a bricked e3000 someone can have to debrick and test if it helps getting it supported.

I just share my observation on my device and nothing expected that's fully work on my device. On the other hand, in performance and function view it is totally "work" for me if I want very high traffic application on some situation such as BT huge files that require > 200Mbps bandwidth. Reboot and vpn issues are just a drawback for me when the feature is enabled.

Understood and that's a good thing to note. Unfortunately for me my ISP connection is nowhere near the speeds to even need the HW Nat so I haven't even tried it. I hit the upper limit without it, all of 15MBps... Very Happy

I have an ea6900 running Kongs and I get into the 120's all the time. Which I guess isn't bad considering i only have a 105 service. And that is without hardware NAT which kills my HTTP
