The scenario is this, I have a wireless router that connects to my ISP, which I want to be the primary. I have a second router (the TL-WR841N v5.2) that I've flashed with dd-wrt build 24461 from:

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2014/06-23-2014-r24461/tplink_tl-wr841ndv5/

I want to use the TL-WR841N as a secondary router, it would connect to the primary through WLAN and allows bridged communication into the primary's network and internet (of course) for any devices connecting to the LAN or WLAN on the TL-WR841N.

Initially, I'm starting with the simplest case, wherein I am connecting one device to the TL-WR841N via LAN and the TL-WR841N itself to the primary router via WLAN.

I'm running into difficulties where the TL-WR841N appears to be connected fine to the primary's WLAN, but anything connected to the LAN of the TL-WR841N cannot ping or communicate with the primary. I'm also having the difficulty that whenever I switch on the TL-WR841N, connections to the primary router start timing out for devices connected directly to the primary through WLAN.

I followed this tutorial for the bridged connections:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged

My primary router is set to 192.168.1.1, the secondary is configured for 192.168.1.152. In the secondary's configuration, 192.168.1.1 is set as the gateway and dhcp and the firewall are disabled.

Suggestions?

Place holder for more configuration screenshots (max of 3 per post). I'll reiterate that as soon as the TP-Link connects to the primary router, the WLAN becomes unstable for all users. I forgot to mention that I've also tried build 21061 from the router database.

try a build previous to 2014/04/18.
I've met with similar problem with tplink 841v8 with recent builds.
