Yes unless you know magic or if by some chance it has it in the wan port like some old routers. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
I fail to understand your reply and how to use that? The unit has a WAN port - obviously, but without removing the cover (open the box), its pretty hard to understand if the serial is conducted to any of the WAN pins...
Well, I looked and it did not have such "feature" for this alphanetworks reference board. I ended up opening it and ...well u know the rest of the story.

I left my router alone not having a issue, but as all things go, it has been online for a long time. So I figured I reboot it...
Well it went to the blinking death. I ended up ordering the TTL cable and was able to console in and vmram erase it, its back online using the newest beta...
So odd of a issue. My other two 880ls running the same code are just fine.

Are you sure, they have the same configuration? There seems to be an issue with the nvram and how many bytes are used. If the configuration is only slightly different, it may explain, why your other two devices run fine.

Just curious if anyone has an 880L working at 5GHz with a Chromecast 2. My Chromecast2 doesn't even see the 5GHz SSID. I've tried a bunch of the ideas from the forum but no luck so far. If anyone has this working, please let me know which build you're using and your wireless settings.
I see that these versions are old, but I need to flash the DD-WRT mostly for ad blocking and OpenVPN - otherwise I am satisfied with the factory released version.
So could anyone suggest a stable release with properly working:
- WI-FI (2.4 and 5 GHz)
- Port-Forwarding
- DDNS
- OpenVPN
- Ad blocking (I think SHH and JFFS)
Apart from these 2 versions, I read that these are mostly stable:
- 09-28-2015-r27858
- 12-01-2015-r28397
