hi, i currently am able to pull a public ip address from the second virtual interface with br1 (my isp assigns me over 2 dynamic)

with vlan/tagging etc, how can my windows 7 PC (NIC supports vlan) to pull a public address?

The router is over 100 feet away i do not want to run a second cable.. thank you in advance.

Do you have a Broadcom based router?

yes I do - I have VLAN working by tagging port 4 ..

do switches (unmanaged) pass vlans naturally? or will they stop it.

No, an unmanaged switch will not pass it on.

Connect your PC directly to the router.

I got a Neagear GS108T for that purpose. An 8 port managed switch that is not to expensive.
