First of all, I'd like to thank Kong for the awesome builds. I recently upgraded to the R7000 and saw a slight improvement (vs my old E4200 v2) with the factory firmware, but when I installed DD-WRT Build 24345M, I saw a huge improvement. That leads me to my question... I've been reading about how some people have issues with the router rebooting when using the builds with the new driver and if that happens, you should downgrade to the newest version with the old driver (24345M). Can someone please tell me if there are drastic improvements with the new builds using the new driver? Is it mostly more features or is the performance better? Currently I'm happy with the build I'm running, but am curious if I am missing out.

Security patches for one.
Supposedly better wifi performance with the newer driver.
IPv6 working better.

Those are the things I can think of right off the top of my head.

I'm running the same build and looking to update to a later build but don't know which build to go for;

2500, 25015, 25090 or 25100?

(1) I believe the 25100 has reboot issues for some people but what about 25090, is it the latest stable build?

(2) When updating to later build do I downgrade to initial build first then flash the build I want or do I simply upgrade to later desired build without downgrading to initial build?

Once on dd-wrt you can can upgrade/downgrade from any version to any version. No need to revert back to something old.

For people affected by the reboot issue, it applies to all versions greater than 24345 as they all use the new (so to speak) broadcom driver.

Note that there are pptp passthrough issues affecting all versions > 24800

24800 - 25125

http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/25126

There will be a new build up on dd-wrt ftp pretty soon.
I think BrainSlayer is doing his last checks and possible fixes. But I'm done until he publishes a new release.

Kong, not sure what you're doing these days *smile*. Are you going to be testing BrainSlayer's builds on the R7000? Will we hear from you on the results of your testing?

Or is something else going on? Will you still build and test?

Thanks.

Seconded

Since all builds above 24345 has reboot issues I'll stay on current build for now. I must admit tho I switch off my router every night.

guys, on the 24345 release, would I need to get the 'OLDD' version to get the one that everyone is reporting to be 100% stable, or does the NEWD one the stable one? Thanks
