Hi people!
I configured my WR741ND with dd-wrt (rev 24160) as a client bridge... I got some issues but changing to this build as you recommended here I got it working (or kind of, as I discovered a problem with an empirical workaround...).
The problem is the following one:
I'm repeating "Connection1" and I called this repeated network "Connection2" (I didn't use the same SSID because I read that could lead to problems).
- Now, if I connect to "Connection2" directly I get no access to the network.
- If I connect to "Connection1" I do get access, and only if I connect to "Connection2" already connected to "Connection1" I can get access to the Internet (but sometimes quite unstable)...
As "Connection1" is really weak, this doesn't always work, and sometimes I get "limited connection" connected to "Connection2", and have to do all the process again (which could be quite long).
Thanks in advance! I'm starting to think I should change my router for one with a better range or at least get another antenna (I guess that could be the cause of instability), but if I can solve this with what I already have, it would be much better ...
I'm not sure that applies to my issue. And also, the router doesn't support dd-wrt and I can't find some of the configuration options like protection mode (and configuring that only in the repeater hasn't solved the problem).
Hi, thanks again! The GW Mode was already manually configured as the router's IP in ath0.
Now, I added in "Network Setup" the same IP under "Gateway" and "Local DNS", but it doesn't work either...
Sorry to answer so late... Sometimes it seems to work a while but then I have to log in again into "Connection1" network so as to be able to get into "Connection2". And it's in every device the same.
