Just remember, I modified the V3 Killer and reversions to self reboot on certain steps, powering off or unplugging at the wrong time could cause big problems.

Hi thanks for your help so far:)
So when using the new v3 killer there is no need to power off after flashing the v3 killer, just wait until it reboots on it's own about 2 minutes, then tftp the dd-wrt file to the router, then wait 2 more minutes?

Thanks
Glen

@biggy boy

This is what happens

When you flash Killer V3 thru the web gui, it writes the small firmware program to flash, then it reboots itself.

When it reboots, it begins executing the program that was just flashed to it, takes probably a min, wiat for "TWO"

if it has not rebooted itself after TWO minutes, you can manually reboot it, it shouls be finished doing what has to be done.

after it reboots the third time, the CFE will write new nvram params, from those embedded in the CFE, now it needs to reboot one more time, it should do this itself, and should be very fast.

If you are watching, and it boots up and all lights go off, including the power light, your ready to tftp the firmware, "DD-WRT" firmware, not Linksys Firmware.

You are flashing dd-wrt firmware correct ? If you are, and its not working properly, tftp the killer V3 only for the GS, It will reboot itself, then it takes about a min, before it will be finished flashing, then you can try tftping the dd-wrt firmware again.

Does the computer your using have a static address or one assigned by the dhcp server ? give your pc or the computer that you want to manage the router with a static address of 192.168.1.5, mask 255.255.255.0, plug into port one and then navigate to http://192.168.1.1

and or try pinging it ?
