Hi,
just fixed my SE505 v02,
which died after overclocking to 300MHz ...
first - to give precautions about overclocking,
overclocking works, but just these steps
216MHz, 240MHz and 264MHz (for 266MHz i recommend heatsink on cpu)
my se505 died after overclock to 300MHz ... nvram get corrupted,
so i search over the net and found jtag schematics,
and pictures for connecting
so, after connecting jtag, connected power supply,
and started software,
cleared the nvram ... and all works.
for community purposes, i backed up important parts
(router is with dd-wrt already ...)
I was using original fw (v2.01) in my SE505 V2 router, today I decided to update fw to original version 3.02, but unfortunatelly my power light is blinking now...and router's not working anymore!
Tomorrow I'll make Jtag cable and follow your procedures, as I really want my Se505 router to be alive :)
By the way...Is dd-wrt Fw better then stock one?
Is there any possibility to restore original Se505 fw?
Many thanks in advance!
Regards and please apologise for my English.
The one
well, it's definatly better than stock firmware,
at least for me.
currently i'm using it as AP,
to provide internet and local network resources,
to my few laptops and few neighbours,
and i must say, it works flawless.
it has client signals measure and detailed
wireless settings.
of course, dont expect miracles from it.
i use mikrotik RB750 as main router,
and bandwidth limiting on it.
it's very good combination.
very soon, i will get another SE505,
to try bridge mode, and some other functions,
as throughput, and modding it, adding external antennas,
also will do some field testing (outdoor),
and hopefuly, will post results.
But what in the world made you decide to use SMD-resistors in this setup? _________________ Asus RT16N + OTRW

Another Asus RT16N as WDS-bridge

Alex, could you tell me if the WDS LAN function is working on SE505?
I have Wndr 3700 with DD-WRT and i would try to connect it with SE505(if i´ll managed to upload dd-wrt).
But what in the world made you decide to use SMD-resistors in this setup?
well ... It was late night probably, and I ran out of normal resistors, so I took some cell phone or something, took it off with hot-air soldering gun,
and made it to play with this router ...
(I work with micro-smd all the day - cell phone repair).
