I need some others running the TL-WR841N/ND router to confirm my ping test results on the ath0 interface between 2 wifi devices:
Ping has started…from Macbook Pro

Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2

I solved the problem. First, 11/20/14 firmware improved the ping times but still slow in the 200ms range. Then I realized it was only iOS and Mac OS X that were slow. Power Saving! Aggressive Power Saving! If I started a large download on the Macbook, the ping time was then normal.
