Hi gurus,

I have been using DD-WRT for my Netgear WNDR for a few months now. I recently purchased a Seagate Backup+ USB HDD (2TiB, external powered) and seems the router cannot recognize / mount the disk.

I formatted the disk using ubuntu following the instructions on the USB_storage page, and have tried quite a few builds.

On r21061, the router can recognize the disk, but seems it reports bogus sizes of the disk and those partitions, similar to the one reported in this old thread:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=711207

Quote:
--- /dev/sda
Block device, size 298.1 GiB (320072933376 bytes)
DOS/MBR partition map
Partition 1: 50 MiB (52428800 bytes, 102400 sectors from 1024)
Type 0x83 (Linux)
First 513 KiB are blank
Partition 2: 32 MiB (33554432 bytes, 65536 sectors from 103424)
Type 0x82 (Linux swap / Solaris)
Partition 3: 149.0 GiB (159949783040 bytes, 312401920 sectors from 168960)
Type 0x83 (Linux)
Blank disk/medium
Status: Not mounted - Unsupported file system or disk not formated

On more recently builds, e.g. r24461, the router cannot even find the disk. When the router reboots, the disk turns on and spins for a few seconds. Once the router is fully turned on, the disk shuts off.

I searched online and noticed a few threads talking about some Netgear routers not compatible with external powered hdd. Not sure if that's the case for wndr4300.

Any idea?

Looks like r24160 works. I just downgraded to this version and the disk mounted successfully.

I learnt the version from the following ticket.
http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/3768

Hope this helps others as well.
