to quantify my above somments. when directly plugged into my moden i get better than i should from my isp. when going through the router no QoS or any other limiting factors enabled i get 60% of what i should. should point out upload is not affected just losing 40mb/s on download

You won't get more than that on a router running a single cpu core @300MHz on a K3.X kernel.
K26 is less cpu intensive so will probably give you around 80Mbps.

odd based on this.
Time: 00:06:41 up 1 day, 2:06, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.04

but i do thank you for your answer

Router: ASUS RT-N16
Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/15/14) big - build 25648
File used: dd-wrt.v24-25648_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N16.trx
Status: Working (7 hours)
Reset: Yes
Errors: None (so far)

I can't get openvpn client working. Status reports nothing. I upgraded from old mega firmware just to have openvpn, so I can be wrong configuring it. Weird I see nothing in status logs.

Router: Netgear R7000
Firmware: v24-sp2 (12/15/14) std - build 25648
Status: Working (1 hour)
Reset: No
Errors: None (so far)

Running with wl0_ampdu=off

Flashed fine and works solid so far (well just 1 hour right now) - no Packet Errors and the 5G connection is faster then Kong 25580.

With the last Kong Build I got between 800 and 1.100 Mbits (varying) and an average Ping of 1-2ms
now it 's solid at 1.300 Mbits and 1ms average (and lower) - at least so far.
The difference isn't big - but better is always nice. Smile

Now I just wish my Modem wouldn't be dying (nothing to do with DD-WRT). Already contacted my ISP for an replacement :/

Edit: Ok after 5 hours the 5G Connection is back to the usual 8x7 Mbits + Confused

My Roku Streaming Stick does not seem to like the 5Ghz N-only settings I have on my R7000. The Roku sees a very weak signal (can't even connect) on N-only, while at the same time getting an "excellent" signal on the G-only side. The N-connection used to be solid some months (builds) ago.

I don't think this is unique to the BS builds, as I've also seen this issue with recent Kong builds.

EDIT: I was able to resolve the Roku problem by applying a different wireless network mode (in my case, NA-mixed) then applying N-only 5GHz once again. Probably a residual effect of so many recent firmware changes. Wink

Hows it holding up any reboots?

No unexpected reboots, but for whatever reason I've not experienced the reboot problem with the R7000 and my setup.

AC56U, L2TP connection, the router freezes every 10-15mins.
Had to go back to 25628 build, now it's back to normal.

R7000, flashed r25648 on Dec 16.
Was working fine for with no configuration change from previous build (r25628). Last night I added a deny wan access rule for a single MAC address and have since had 2 reboots today that I know about. Must be a coincidence, can't imagine how an access restrictions rule would trigger a reboot. Everything else appears fine.

Router: Linksys WRT-310N v1 (oldie but goodie)
Firmware: dd-wrt.v24_vpn_generic.bin, 12/15/14 (K24)
Status: Working (5 minutes)
Reset: 30/30/30 prior

This build has the same issue with https as the previous builds - Accessing the WebGUI through Chrome (I assume FF and IE as well) results in an error, ERR_SSL_FALLBACK_BEYOND_MINIMUM_VERSION

Any plans to upgrade SSL version?

Also, the Webgui remains slower than anything. Clicking almost anything results in the request being sent, the browser continually waiting (Chrome threatening to kill the page as having become unresponsive), and if you wait long enough pressing Stop on the browser resulting in the entire page being loaded. It's almost like the router doesn't send the footer details.

This has been an issue in a few builds with this router. Any ideas what's happening?

Thanks for the continual work! I'm going to do some other testing (sshd, hopefully pptp vpn or OpenVPN if I can figure out how to set up the server; would appreciate a PM from somebody with a decent explanation on the easiest way to allow an Android device to VPN in). May update this post with further feedback or post again.

DO NOT 30-30-30 or erase nvram newer routers! It can brick them.

EA6700: Build 27745 (nvram below 32K, ipv6 - HE 6in4)
E4200: Build 26587
WRT54GL: Retired - waiting in the closet for an emergency.

My bad - re-posted to Atheros WiSOC forum

TP-Link WR841ND V7

After a no reset upgrade from r24461, cabled device (PC) cannot reach another cabled device (printer). The PC does have eth0 (WAN) access. Wireless connections can reach all devices.

N.B. the cabled devices can reach other cabled devices attached to other routers.

Further and perhaps useful details:
2 VAPs with separate subnets (1 accesses a remote DHCP server, 1 a local DNSMasq DHCP server)
    WAN port is disabled
    4 LAN ports in use
    ath0 is bridged with eth0 and eth1
ath1 is routed with fw rules to eth0

Router - Asus RT-N66U

Performed erase nvram via SSH and reset during flashing.

Reconfigured router manually (no OTRW back/restore).

Everything seemed to be performing excellent.

My ISP upgraded me to 150Mb/s and I'm seeing ~125Mb/s WAN-LAN performance.

ALL other builds prior to this cap me at 91 Mb/s WAN-LAN.

So, whatever was done to netfilter or whatever, there is a Significant increase in WAN-LAN routing speeds.

However, I seem to be suffering from these random disconnects were the router will become unresponsive, and I have to manually reboot it.

It's a pain in the ass because this is the ONLY K3.x build thus far with the routing speeds where I want them.

I am going to try disabling the 5G radio for now.

Anyone else with a similar problem?
