Linksys e1700 is a Mediatek MT7620A Soc based router so i didn't know where to post this question...

in router database i can find e1700

after i downloaded factory-to-ddwrt.bin

i go to Firmware Upgrade section to upgrade

when the upgrade process to 30% it will show a message

"Incorrect firmware file! Please reboot first and try again!"

then i go to ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/01-04-2015-r25760/linksys_e1700/ to download the beta version (factory-to-ddwrt.bin)

still got the same issue

what should i do?

sorry for my bad english

First, did you follow the wiki?

Second, are you aware (at least according to the wiki) that dd-wrt doesn't support the router's 5GHz radio?

i already follow those instructions, still got the same issues....

my router was linksys e1700, it didn't have 5GHz radio

I think the Problem ist that the E1700 Router is shipped with Linksys Firmware 1.0.01.
And with this Firmware it is impossible to install dd-wrt.

I've successfully installed DD-WRT on my Linksys E1700 from the Router DB -> factory-to-ddwrt.bin

Followed instructions from the Linksys E2500 to the letter, worked absolutely perfect, no issues, rebooted straight into dd-wrt. Flashed with Win 7 / Internet Explorer 8 (dont laugh! seemed like the most compatible). Dont see router version... might only be v1 released. Also didn't find original firmware version before flashing, sorry.

Bought router from Amazon ($54)

I do claim this the cheapest Gigabit Wireless N DD-WRT router available!

Edit: I didn't try the webflash version, didn't know what it did.

Sorry for necroing this post (a bit), but can anyone confirm if the issue is with having Linksys firmware 1.0.01 on the router? Just to clarify, version 1.0.01 is the update that came out on 11/14/2014. Thanks!

I didn't find the version before I updated, but I just bought two of them and had absolutely no problems (aside from lan port 2 not working).

Did you follow the e2500 instructions and use the factory to ddwrt file in the router db?

Did you use internet explorer?

Tried following it. However 30/30/30 reset did not work. Router became unresponsive with no ping responses. Had to power cycle after the 30/30/30 reset.

Nopes, used Firefox on Mac. Will borrow a friend's Windows laptop to try it with IE.
