This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 29059_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

Router: TP-Link Archer C9 v1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r29059 std (02/09/16)
Previous: TP-Link firmware 3.17.0 Build 20150514 Rel.70681n
Kernel: Linux 4.4.1 #274 SMP Tue Feb 9 07:09:23 CET 2016 armv7l
Status: Working as router
Reset: No
Errors: See below

One small item noticed - have 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive plugged into USB3 port. Both the USB2 and USB3 lights are on. Same behavior noted with 2015-12-24-r28598.

<edit1> After 1 day, 6 hours noticed that both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz guest networks were no longer connecting. Signal seemed fine but when you try to connect phone you don't see getting IP address message. Reboot fixed problem for now, will see if it comes back. Have DHCP server set up for each (192.168.2.1, 192.168.5.1) on Networking page.

<edit2> After 10 more hours I get IP addresses on guest network but when I try to do a Ookla speedtest with my phone I get network comm issues message. I switch to non-guest network and speedtest works fine. Now, rebooting doesn't fix guest network bandwidth issue, still get IP addresses.

What's the difference between this build and Kongs?
I noticed this build is 28MB, Kongs build is 20MB...

Router: Asus RT-AC66U
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r29059 (02/09/16)
Kernel: Linux 3.10.96 #11425 Tue Feb 9 10:27:33 CET 2016 mips
Status: Working with issues.
Reset: Yes: To factory settings in GUI after flashing.
Errors: Yes (Not new to 29059)
Previous Build: 29002

Continuing errors:
QoS is broken in many ways.
Setting max bandwidth results in either complete ineffectiveness when too high as expected, but "too high" is apparently 56mbps for my 66mbps connection. Going down just 500kbps reduces speed by 20mbps, but completly eliminated 2000ms+ of bufferbloat.
With upload the setting must be TOO HIGH to work correctly!

EG: 66Mbps 2000ms+ BB download. 4.2Mbps 400ms BB upload direct to the modem or router without QoS.

Settings tried:
60/4.0 No change/Upload limited to 3
56/4.5 No change/Upload limited to 3.5
55/5.0 Limited to 40mbps/Upload 4.2 W/ 400ms BB (was 32 down with same settings on previous 29002 - something changed for the better).
55.5/4.9 No change/3.8mbps

So the best I can do is setting 55mbps download and 4.9mbps upload to stop bufferbloat at the loss of 26mbps, that is a LOT more than what is needed for it to work. It should only need about 6mbps tops.

The issue is adding 100kbps more on either and it suddenly acts like it's not even turned on, allowing it to pull up to 66mbps down & 4.2mbps up with spikes and crazy bufferbloat. Not to mention you have to set upload ABOVE what it actually is to get the ideal spot!

Tested 100+ times with different setting between tests on two different AC66U's. Tried using different Qos settings and methods, services don't seem to be effective either. Maybe. It's hard to tell with certainty.

In addition, enabling default user WAN bandwidth limits it to <12mbps or lower no matter what is set. So that is broken too.

Status: working
Reset: No
Errors: a few

Under setup page DNS1 DNS2 DNS3 are configured.
Under status > wan page it shows DNS3 DNS1 DNS2.
I added DNS3 later, not together with DNS1 and DNS2.

MAC address are shown wrong:
LAN MAC ends with 13
WAN MAC ends with 15
WL0 MAC ends with 16
WL1 MAC ends with 13 < same as LAN MAC
All other digits are the same between the MACs.

Rest is working well.

One more bug I forgot!

QoS issue:

Switching the Packet Scheduler from HTB to HSFC results in the inability to make new connections. It looks like you are online, but pages time out instead. So perhaps the DNS lookup goes through but that's it.

The DD-WRT interface can be interacted with over wifi, but only the page you are on, you can't load, refresh, or duplicate it.

However I was able to hit reboot on it and it went through and completed successfully! Unfortunately after that I was entirely unable to establish a connection to DD-WRT while using wifi.

Resetting settings to default over a wired connection (which can now access DD-WRT but not the internet) is required to regain wireless access and internet connectivity.

Device: R7000
Previous build:28882
Webflash
Reset to default
USB services ON
Samba ON
WD USB3 HD formatted EXT4 on the USB3 port
Typical default Wifi settings.
Connected to DLink Gigabit switch.

No errors running for 24 hours.

This is my first attempt at using the R7000 as a small NAS. From a hard wired desktop, I can see and attach to the R7000 shared drive, but when copying files to/from, I only get about 11-12 MB/s throughput. I have the R7000 overclocked to 1.2 GHz. I also have a HTPC and get 90-95 MB/s copying to/from my Desktop to the HTPC. Copying to/from HTPC to R7000 I still only get 11-12 MB/s. I know Samba is "slow", but the Stock software gives me 40-50 MB/s. If anyone else is using Samba, I'd really appreciate some feedback on how it is working for you (speed wise).

I get around 17MB/S on R6300v2 on older builds (last i tested Samba was on build 27858 i guess)
