I had the same problem, no 5Ghz light and service, although everything seemed to be running just fine.. Setting the channel for 5Ghz manually rather than 'auto' did the trick for me.. (not all channels work).

I'v3 just updated to the last beta from 2017 but the front page of the web admin still claims I have Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r33375 std (09/19/17),
I've repeated the upgrade but still this version listed is this some mistake on the firmware code or at my end?

I'm new to ddwrt and flashed the old 21061 from the main page downloads. I'd like to upgrade to a newer firmware to avoid security issues like krack, etc. what's a good, relatively stable build to flash that's free of any showstoppers?
I use 5ghz mostly and use chromecast regularly on my network. I see there's some issues with chromecast with later builds: https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=312595 & https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=312795 so chromecast functionality would be required.
build recommendations would greatly appreciated.

hello people,
just flashed a tpl-wdr3600 (rev 1.5) with build 12-29-2017-r34311.
i'm trying to set it up with PPPOE connection/auth for WLAN and for the life of me i can't make it to connect successfully.
tried to ssh into it to check & logs and such but each time i hit "connect" button for pppoe wlan, my ssh gets dropped.
can somebody confirm to me that pppoe is working? or is this a known bug?
thanks

I upgraded to v3.0-r40400 (07/20/19).
QoS settings based on IP address doesn't seem to be worknig
IP based Access restrictions doesn't work.
Open VPN works.
I have another router as repeater, clients do not get IP address from the main router's DHCP. in the repeater router (TP-Link WR740N) I tried same version of DD-WRT, and latest factory firmware as well, both exhibiting the same behavior.
As a dirty workaround, I am running the DHCP on repeater as well, with a different IP range in the same subnet.
Has anyone experienced these issues?

two days ago, I tried 04-10-2020-r42872 on my WDR-3600, and it could not connect to internet, so I switch to 10-01-2019-r41218
