I've tested both firmware (now 29739). Nothing better after flashing.

The worst router in my life this tplink wdr3600. Wrong signal after 5m, very bad quality transfer. I tried advenced settings, nothing not better

I attached two picture. The range is ~4m On the 2.4GHz the red signal is the wdr3600 (the blue is a other device around 7m)

ping on ~4m
64 bytes from 192.168.0.1: icmp_seq=311 ttl=64 time=7.75 ms

I've been running 27858 for months and it has been working well. I got the info from this thread:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1052748

Any other reports of newer firmware working well?

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/10-06-2016-r30731/ is the latest firmware for my TL-WDR3600 ver. 1.5 that works well. It's working with all Wi-Fi devices on the network and there are no drops. The builds after 30731 have been problematic: horrible Wi-Fi latency, drops, and poor 5 GHz coverage.

I have a WDR3600 V1.5 running Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r30709 std (09/29/16)
Although it's stable running 2.4 gig, enabling 5gig just causes instability as well as packet loss.
I've not tried any other versions thus far as I was waiting for a stable update to address CVE-2016-5195
I'm only using this device as an AP so can't comment on other Wan related problems. I had an uptime of 16 days stable though with just 2.4gig enabled.

Thanks to all the people that make DD-WRT happen, Awesome!

I have been having issues with the stock firmware which hasn't been updated in ages.
I have to reboot the router every week or so, otherwise my speed drops drastically.
How are your thoughts about ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/11-14-2016-r30880/tplink_tl-wdr3600v1/ ?
I plan on upgrading again to DDWRT, don't ask me why I switched back to stock, it was a mistake.

Also, is there a difference between the _us-webflash version and the other one?

so this latest firmware is quite bad. I had to revert back to stock.
both 5 and 2.4 are dropping like flies, my laptop actually goes down to 9mbps in the same room with the router after a while. The 5 network simply goes dark after awhile, it is no longer broadcasting. Tried a multitude of combinations, channels, channel width.
Quite disappointed to see how bad the firmware got for this router, it used to be really good a few years ago.
I guess i will stay on stock for a while or go buy another router with a better stock firmware.
No issues going back and forth stock-ddwrt-stock.

So you'll need if build with a higher number than this revision. Enjoy!
