Hello,

I recently decided to convert an old router i had laying around into a WiFi relay/repeater.

After checking the router data base I used build:
21061.

I followed the guide here:
http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/MI424WR

However one of the links was broken so I used a version of redboot from here:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/actiontec/mi424wr

After successfully flashing redboot and installing dd-wrt I power cycled the router.

Then the problems began,

1. Cant access the web interface
2. Cant telnet to router
3. Retried 1 and2 with directions form here:
www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Obtaining_Router_IP
Still no good.
4. Reset button on router appears to be broken
(it is old).
5. All other suggested paths of action require that
I either use the reset button, telnet or the web
interface.

After power cycling the router many times still no avail.

upon powering on the router light turns red (redboot) than eventually goes green (dd-wrt)

BUT there is hope

When I ping the router at 192.168.1.1 I get a response so something is still alive in there.

What is the best course of action to achieve my goal of setting up a WiFi relay?

Of this is the wrong place to post this (I am a novice)please kindly redirect me to the correct thread so i may be on my merry way.

Thanks!
